Treevah: File Management Made Simple.

Role: UX/UI Designer & UX Researcher

Duration: December 2024 - June 2025

Tools: Figma & Microsoft

What is Treevah?

Treevah is a 3-panel file management system designed to streamline how users organize and access their content. The interface displays Folders, Subfolders, and Files simultaneously across three panels, allowing users to view, edit, and open content without constant navigation between different views. This approach reduces clicks by 80% and enables seamless file comparison across multiple directories, transforming traditionally cumbersome file management into an intuitive workflow.

Problem Statement

Challenge 1: Cloud Interface Complexity

The Problem: Users struggled with understanding how content hierarchy functioned across Treevah's 3-panel system. The relationship between subfolder and file panels was unclear, creating confusion about content organization and making the selection process between panels feel disconnected and unintuitive.

During my internship at Treevah, I tackled three critical user experience challenges that were hindering the platform's usability and adoption:

Challenge 2: Mobile Adaptation

The Problem: The 3-panel desktop interface didn't translate effectively to mobile devices, leaving users without access to the core organizational benefits that made Treevah valuable. The information architecture needed complete reconceptualization for smaller screens.

Challenge 3: AI Integration Friction

The Problem: While AI capabilities existed within Treevah, they felt bolted-on rather than naturally integrated into users' existing workflows. Users had to learn new interaction patterns, disrupting their established file management habits.

Key Learnings

Cross-functional collaboration: I learned to effectively work with UX/UI designers, developers, marketing teams, and stakeholders while presenting research findings and design rationale to drive product decisions in a collaborative business environment.

This internship solidified my passion for UX design while providing practical experience in the entire design process, from initial research through final implementation.

Multi-platform design adaptability: Working on Cloud, Mobile, and AI products simultaneously challenged me to adapt my design approach to different platforms and user contexts, while the iterative two-week design cycles reinforced the importance of rapid prototyping and continuous user feedback.

Iterative design process mastery: Developed proficiency in rapid prototyping, continuous user feedback integration, and two-week design cycles, translating user research insights into actionable design improvements that directly impact product development.
